The doorbell rang Friday night 8pm. We weren’t expecting anyone – or so I thought.

It was tito Akuy at the door. I went and greeted him “Good evening. What brings you here?”

Akuy replied with a smile, “I’m just following orders tito Jess.” Apparently, being snowed-in that whole week prevented my wife from running some errands. She needed someone to drive her around so she can take care of some stuff she didn’t get to do because of the snow.

Hmmmm….. she’s probably gonna get me my birthday present. =) “But it’s 8pm and stores are either already closed, or are gonna close soon,” I thought. Again, hmmmmmm……

2 hours later, they (Jessica and Claudette) returned. And after they came upstairs, Claudette kept telling me it’s time for bed. I thought that was highly unusual. Nonetheless, I went downstairs to lock up - being the responsible head of the family that I am. ;)

As I opened the door and reached into the garage to turn off the garage door opener, I noticed a few bags sitting on the trunk of the car. >-) hehehe *wink*wink*

Of course, I didn’t want to spoil their surprise for me, but the bags were right there. Just a few steps away… calling out to me… “Where could they have possibly gone until 11pm to get my present?”

Stealthily, I listened to check if Claudette was watching me. And seeing that the coast was clear, I tip-toed into the garage towards the trunk of the car. As I got closer to the bags, I felt mixed emotions. Part of me was hoping I’ll find nothing there. However, a bigger part of me wanted to find out where they went. Well, I didn’t see any present, that’s for sure!

We all went and watched the 3WM at Calvary Fellowship. This was our first time to watch their full show and I think everyone enjoyed it. They’re pretty funny!

I think I’ve been greeted “Merry Christmas” more this year compared to past years rather than the politically-correct “Happy Holidays”. Perhaps more and more people are getting back to their senses that the holiday is in fact in honor of the birth of Jesus, the Christ, the savior. Praise God!

Thankfully, I’m pretty much done with shopping and wrapping. Now all that’s left to do is prepare the riddles and clues for the Christmas eve treasure hunt. =)
